Pastor Steve Holt

Steve Holt came to know Christ as a freshman at the University of Georgia, where he was on a full athletic scholarship in gymnastics. Steve spent 10 years on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ, most of that time in Japan. He helped pioneer the campus ministries in Tokyo and Okinawa. Steve graduated from Fuller Theological Seminary with a Master’s degree in Missiology.

Steve Holt met his wife Liz while smuggling Bibles into China. Liz is a graduate of UCLA where she came to know the Lord. Liz served with Campus Crusade for Christ for seven years, all in Japan with Steve. They have seven children.

Steve and Liz planted Mountain Springs Church in Colorado Springs in 1995. The church has since grown to over 3,500 active members. MSC has planted 13 other churches during this time. Steve Holt has founded and leads a new network of churches, Word and Spirit Churches International, that currently have churches in the United States and Japan.
