PREPARING FOR MARRIAGE, PRE- MARITAL MENTORING
If you are planning a wedding, put this at the top of your list of things to do!
- Contact MSC Marriage Ministry to communicate your desire to start the process-(719)495-6688 or pfm@mountainsprings.org
- Complete the Pre-Marital Covenant Counseling form ( Download the Pre-Marriage Covenant and Counseling Form* )
- Once we receive your completed forms, you will be contacted to schedule a pastoral interview.
- After your initial pastoral interview, you will be connected with a Preparing for Marriage mentor couple who will walk through the program with you.
*Those who desire to participate in our Preparing for Marriage pre-marriage mentoring program need to allow 4-6 months BEFORE the date of their wedding to complete the mentoring process.

PREPARING FOR MARRIAGE MENTOR COUPLES
Building Biblical Foundations for Lifelong Marriages
I would guess that there isn’t a person in our Church that hasn’t been touched in some way by the devastation of divorce. You must have seen it either in your family, your friends, your neighbors or your co-workers. As you either watched or were involved I am sure you saw the terrible pain and scars that result when families are torn apart.
You probably know that our nation has the worst record of broken marriages in the entire world. Our rate of divorce is over 50% and in fact 6 out of 10 new marriages will likely end in divorce or separation. Did you also know that religious leaders perform the vast majority of all marriages but the divorce rate in the church is not significantly different from the world at large? Therefore, it is clear that we the church are present at the launching of many marriages but as a body we have not been effective when the inevitable challenges attack these marriage relationships.
Would you like to be part of God’s solution? The goal of our Preparing for Marriage Mentor Couples program is to help couples make their marriages lifelong. It is a couple on couple ministry with a focus on premarital counseling and post-marriage mentoring.
Mentor Couples...
- A group of couples who have been married for several years, love the Lord and are willing to be open about our marriage walk. We have a strong desire to see others be successful and fulfilled in their marriages, especially pre-married and young married couples.
- Couples who assist MSC Pastors with preparing couples for marriage and then walk (as friends) with the newly married couple for the first 12-24 months.
- As Mentoring Couples, we are not professional counselors but friends who have worked through marriage issues of our own, are willing to share our story and come alongside to help a couple in their marital success.
- Couples who are trained in premarital material as well as general marriage topics.
